What is long-stay Travel Insurance?

Unlike standard leisure travel insurance (which usually only covers short holidays of up to 30–60 days), a longstay travel insurance policy is built for longer trips up to 15 months. It ensures you’re protected for the entire duration of your travels — whether that’s backpacking, volunteering, working abroad (non-manual), or studying in another country. How is it different to standard Travel Insurance?

Standard Travel Insurance usually only covers short trips. Long-stay Insurance is specifically designed for trips lasting up to 15 months, with added flexibility like return home visits and optional study abroad cover.

Can I return home during my trip?

Yes. If your trip is over 3 months, your policy includes return home cover. Depending on your policy, you can return home 2–4 times for up to 14 days each without your insurance ending.
